The principle
A single image can imply a whole story: what happened before, what is happening now, what might happen next. Narrative posters invite the viewer to fill in the gaps. Clues — an open door, footprints, a half-eaten meal — let the imagination do the rest.
Objective. Imply a narrative within a single composition.
The brief
Design a poster for a short story competition that implies a story through a single scene.
Constraints
- A single scene — no comic panels
- At least two narrative clues
- Any image-making technique
- Include the competition details
You're done when
- A clear sense of narrative
- Effective visual clues
- Integrated competition information
Stretch goal
Tell the same story with only typography.
