The principle
Minimalism, rooted in art and design movements of the 1960s, reduces work to its essential elements. In graphic design, it means fewer elements, more space and maximum precision. Minimalism is not about emptiness — it is about making every remaining element count.
Objective. Distil a subject to its essential visual elements.
The brief
Design a minimal poster for a winter music festival.
Constraints
- Maximum three elements (including text blocks)
- Maximum two colours
- Every detail must be precise — check alignment, spacing and kerning
You're done when
- A reduced composition
- Precise execution
- A clear, evocative message
Stretch goal
Use only one element.
