Complementary colours that vibrate.

The principle
Complementary colours sit opposite each other on the colour wheel: red and green, blue and orange, purple and yellow. Placed side by side at full saturation, they intensify each other and can appear to vibrate. Used carefully — one dominant, one accent — they create energy without chaos.
Objective. Use a complementary pair to create energy and emphasis.
The brief
Design a poster for a sports tournament using one pair of complementary colours.
Constraints
- One complementary pair, plus black or white if needed
- One colour must clearly dominate
- Shapes and typography
You're done when
- A true complementary pair
- Clear dominant and accent colours
- Energy without visual discomfort
Stretch goal
Desaturate one of the pair slightly and see how much control you gain.
